College of Radiologic Technology (CORT)

HISTORY

The College of Radiologic Technology started to operate in June 2006 in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act 7722, otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994" whereby the Temporary Permit is granted to PLT College, Inc. on February 6, 2006 to open and conduct Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology Level I.

After a year of its operation with seven (7) admitted enrollees, the permit for offering LEVEL II was granted on January 04, 2007. On January 23, 2008, the temporary permit to offer LEVEL II was approved. On December 5, 2008 of the same year, the Commision on Higher Education finally granted the GOvernment Recognition LEVEL IV.

April 2010 the first batch of Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology with a total of six (6) graduated. Three of them bravely faced the Licensure Board Examination on June 2010 and one of them emerged as the first board passer among the first batch. On November 2010, three of the graduates took the board examination and fortunately the school obtained 100% passing rate. With the succeeding batches who grauated and took the board examinations conducted twice a year, the College of Radiologic Technology successfully maintain its above national passing rate.

College of Radiologic Technology also produced the pioneer graduates with Latin Honors as Cumlaude from the following batches: 2011 (3), 2012 (1) and 2014 (2) repectively.

The College also received the Award of Excellence from CHED Region 02 for obtaining 100% passing rate during the November 2010 board examination. On July 2014 and 2016, the first topnotchers of PLT College of Radiologic Technology was Headed by Ms. Maricel P. Grande, PRT, M.A. from 2006-to-present.

VISION

The primary source of skilled and competent Radiologic technologists responsible in the application of radiation in medical imaging and theraphy.

MISSION

To provide competent, socially-conscious and ethical Radiologic Technologist who can deliver effectively quality patient-care in the diagnosis, treatment and therapy of patient through the use of radiation.

Program Objectives

    1. Apply scientific knowledge, technical skills and the proper work attitude and values necessary for the practice of Radiologic Technology.

    2. Implement proficiently radiation safety and protection measures.

    3. Demonstrate patient-focused care in providing diagnostic and therapeutic imaging.

    4. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing, and presenting using culturally-appropriate language.

    5. Show beginning leadership, management and entrepreneurial skills in the delivery of client care in general and radiologic services in particular

    6. Conduct academic and industrial researches for the advancement of knowledge and practice of the radiologic technology profession.

    7. Pursue life-long education with passion to keep current with national and global developments in health care in general and radiologic technology in particular.

    8. Demonstrate Social responsibility and pride in being a Filipino and a God-centered Radiologic technologist.
