The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery is a four-year program that prepares registered midwives for higher-level competencies. It includes clinical practicums in OB emergencies, high-risk pregnancies, infant and child care, family planning, community health service management, and midwifery pharmacology. Students can choose from majors in Education, Community Health, Reproductive Health, Administration and Supervision, or Health Care Facility Management.
The COLLEGE OF MIDWIFERY is envisioned to a center of excellence capable of developing efficient and effective health care providers imbued with desirable word ethics, self-dicipline and self-reliance.
To train and produce competitive students by equiping them with analytical and Creative-Thinking, problem solving abilities, manipulative competencies that will meet the occupational standards and requirements, values and attitudes with emphasis on work ethics, values, quality education, discipline, honesty, self-reliance and patriotism.
Upon completion of the BS Midwifery Program, the PLTCI GRADUATE should be able to:
1. Apply competently acquired knowledge, skills and attitudes on drug administration, prenatal care, Intra-natal care and postnatal care in normal pregnancy, newborn care as well as Obstetric Emergencies.
2. Demonstrate competencies in identifying patients with complications during pregnancy, labor and delivery.
3.Implement the different mandated programs under the Department of Health.
4. Recognize the importance of moral, ethical, legal principles and attend to issues and concerns in the practice of midwifery.
5. Gain insights from the challenges and opportunities for the midwifery profession and use these for venturing into various entrepreneurial endeavors.
6. Application of critical thinking skills in research and contribute quality evidences in research.
7. Demonstrate social responsibility and pride being a Filipino and a God Centered midwife practitioner.
