The Diploma in Midwifery is a two-year program that combines general education and professional courses to prepare students for entry-level midwifery competencies. It covers Clinical Practicum, Normal Obstetrics, High Risk Obstetrics, Infant Care, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, and Midwifery Ethics.
The Diploma in Midwifery aims to develop first-level midwives' knowledge and skills in caring for women before, during, and after pregnancy. Graduates are expected to provide supervision, care, and advice during pregnancy, labor, and post-partum periods, manage normal deliveries, and care for the child. They will also perform primary health care services, advise on family planning, detect abnormal conditions, and seek specialized assistance as needed.
